It is with deep sadness that the Cheer Athletics St. Louis community announces the passing of Brian Brooks, a beloved cheer dad whose kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on countless athletes and families. Brian passed away this past weekend, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and community that will not be forgotten.
Brian was the proud father of Coach Grace Brooks, affectionately known as “Gracie,” and Lucy Brooks, a current member of the Denim Catz team. His family’s connection to the program extended even further, as his nephew joined the Pitch Purrfect team last season and proudly returned for a second year. The Brooks family has been an integral part of Cheer Athletics St. Louis since becoming the very first family to walk through its doors seven years ago, helping lay the foundation for the close-knit community that exists today.
Throughout the years, Brian was a familiar and welcoming presence at practices, competitions, and team events. He was known for his positive spirit, genuine kindness, and steadfast support of every athlete, coach, and parent. His encouragement and enthusiasm helped create an environment where young athletes could thrive both on and off the mat.
As the Cheer Athletics St. Louis family mourns this tremendous loss, thoughts and prayers remain with Brian’s wife, Angie Brooks, and their daughters during this incredibly difficult time. The community respectfully asks that the family’s privacy be honored as they grieve. Brian Brooks will be remembered for his generous heart, his devotion to his family, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
